Is bipolar 1 worse than bipolar 2 or is it the other way around?!

Question: Bipolar I is more 'severe'. It is characterized by recurrent events of depression and mania. Extreme lows and extreme highs to put it simply. Often the depression is severe enough to cause suicidal ideation. The mania can include hallucinations and delusions(ie believeing one can fly or is God). Bipolar II is also known as "Soft bipolar disorder". Often misdiagnosed as depression because those with bipolar II have depression but alternate with hypomania. Hypomania is a less severe form and often comes across as being "productive" and some people fail to tell their doctors about this because for once they feel "good". Untreated bipolar II can develop into bipolar I. Happened to me :(

I didn't know there was a bipolar 1 and bipolar 2 or something like that, I just find out my ex-boyfriend was bipolar but don't know which one he have.

Bipolar I is worse but Bipolar II can be difficult to diagnose and be pretty devastasting

1 is worse, really.
