Why can't most people with schizophrenia handle stress?!

Question: No offence to anyone who may have it. I was just wondering.

Schizophrenia is when the mind plays tricks on you. Medications can help, but most times only relinquish the dellusions and hallucinations for a period of your day. People with Schizophrenia have a hard time handling stress because they have a hard time distinguishing between what is there versus what their mind is telling them is there. It is as much an emotional illness as it is a mental illness. If you have never seen the movie " A Beautiful Mind " I suggest that you rent it. It is hard at first to see what is happening in the story line and then all of a sudden you get it. It almost puts you in a Schizophrenic's shoes. You will see how handling too much work, or school, leads to more stress -like it does for any of us- which in return for a schizophrenic leads to more hallucinations and dellusions as a way of coping for your brain. The movie might help you to see what schizophrenic's live with daily.

They probably have a lot on their minds and being interrupted is like someone using sleep prevention torture on you.

Because we're already too confused enough to find the line between stress that can be handled and the mess in our heads.

stress aggrivates the condition.

it's like someone with a heart problem drinking coffee - it's not good for them and can make it worse. that's the best way i can think of describing it without sounding like i swallowed a medical encyclopedia

i have schizoaffective disorder.. which is essentially schizophrenia plus a mood disorder either bipolar or depression.. in my case bipolar...

even without stress i have bouts of paranoia .. i have racing thoughts... i feel like there is someone (a rapist and murderer) in the house despite the fact that we have three dogs that would alert me to somebody being in the house...

so when i try to work...the stress of dealing with other people makes me very nervous.. i shake... i accidently squeal a little if i am alone in the back and another worker comes back there... etc..... so i am disabled...

i even squeal if i am not on the right meds...when my husband comes into the room.... or jump when one of the children come into the room...and get short of breath...

you can not imagine how difficult it is to live with any form of schizophrenia.... and what goes on in our heads..... it is already stressful..without adding to it...
