Can you say the whole English alphabet A-Z at the same time (simultaneously)? Nope! It is a sequential process. First you say A, then B, then C, and so on.

But now what if I asked you to see the whole alphabet in your mind's eye, once again A-Z. This may or may not be easier, but it is possible. You might have to move the image back away from you so you can see the whole alphabet.

Our visual field can hold far more information than our auditory.

So to improve your memory, rather than reciting what you have to remember for your exam (auditory approach), see each piece of information in your mind's eye (visual approach).

The same way if I were to ask you what does your school mascot look like or the uniform of your favorite team, you can recreate the image of either in your mind's eye to answer the question.

Now this same process can be used when studying. See the image of the question in your mind's eye. What color is the question written in? Remember it's your mind; use any color you want.

Then see the answer written underneath or next to it. What color is it in? What type of font? What size is the font?

You can do this same process with Names, Dates, etc...

Hint: When you want to access your mental images move your eyes up from the center line (horizontal plane)...like you were trying to look at the ceiling without moving your head and without straining your eyes.

memory tricks

Get enough rest & sleep the day before the exams. Take some supplements like EFA eg Omega 3,6,9.Drink plenty of distilled water. Take B complex during the days of the exam to relax your nerves. Tendency is high no matter how much you have studied you tend to forget due to being nervous.

The best way for me to memorize for tests was alwasy to write out the information in long hand. Summarizing it makes you think about it and places it in your brain in a way that makes sense to you.
It takes a while but is better than rereading the same page again and again!

no need for memorizing,,, study is about understanding,..

Mnemonic. When I was in second grade, I had a hard time remembering the planet, until, 'my very eager mother just serve us nine papaya'. Hope this trick will be good for you as it did, and does, for me.

as soon as you wake up in the morning drink 2 glasses of water.

then do some eye tricks - supposedly they help stimulize memory - look quickly but properly from side to side about 30 times, rest, and do it again.

when studying.
study for an hour, then take a 15 minute break. then for 30 mins go over the stuff you studyd in that hour. then start somehting new for an hour, 15 minute break, go over the stuff you learnt in the first hour for 5 mins, then go over the stuff you learnt in the second hour.

if you repeat a similar schedual that works with your times it should begin to stick once you keep going over everything.
