Hi hun, so sorry to hear that.
You need to keep him close, and talk him into getting help. Tell him how much you need and love him. He won't want to hurt you at the moment. If he is talking about it, he is giving a cry for help of some sort; DO NOT ignore him or brush it off! . I don't know how old you are, but if you are young, then tell his parents. Heck if he's an adult tell his parents. They need to know to help too.

I would take him to the E.R. now, and tell them what he told you.

Good luck to you, as long as you keep an eye on him , he won't do anything silly for the moment.

you can get help here:
http://psychcentral.com/

Take him to the emergency room and have him evaluated. Go NOW!!

If you can, get him to go to the hospital immediately.

If he cannot or will not, ask him to call a suicide hot line straight away to talk about how he feels with people who will understand. Listed are two suicide hot lines. You can also call to talk to a counselor about how you are feeling and what you can do to help him.

1-800-SUICIDE 1-800-273-TALK
1-800-784-2433 1-800-273-8255

If he is in school, please have him go see the school counselor or nurse first thing tomorrow morning. They can help him get professional support.

Please let him know he doesn't have to live this way. He can get better.

I think he might use you as someone to make him feel better. Don't get too involved because he might start pinning his feelings on your or blaming you for stuff, or even threatening to commit suicide if you don't do something for him.

Tell Him you Love Him your obviously not pleasing him
enough.
Or
Take him to see a phycologist immidiatly

It's not really an issue for you to deal with. I know you're his GF and he might seem like he needs you, but this type of behavior will only allow him to leech off your sympathy. Right now he needs professional help that you can't give him. It's best if people who aren't particularly close to him help him through this crisis.

Wish him "good luck"

Suicide is a long term solution to a short term problem.
I think it is something most people ponder and few act on it.
You did not mention age but that sometimes can affect thinking. Life may not be great at the moment but it can and will be if given time.

id let his family know.
