Wanting to smoke. Weird flashbacks?!

Question: So, I can be doing something, then all of a sudden I remember something that happened, but very vaguely, and I'm not sure if it actually happened, or if it was a dream or something. It could be me talking with my friends or me doing something, but I don't remember if it actually happened. I think it might be dreams that I have, and I don't remember them right when I wake up, but I start getting "flashbacks" about them during the day when I'm working. Is that weird?

Also, is it possible to want something so bad that you've never had before? Like smoking? During those "flashbacks" when I remember something, I remember myself smoking, then in real life it makes me want to smoke. I think I smoke in all of my dreams. Then I actually want a cigarette really bad, even though I've never smoked in my life. Is that even possible? To be almost addicted to something you've never had?

This is absolutely possible. It is similar to a woman displaying symptoms of being pregnant even though she is not. If you believe something enough it will be true. Your flashbacks must be very vivid and believable and have a hold on your mind. You just have to focus on the fact that these flashbacks aren't real.
