How long after starting an antidepressant should i begin to feel its effects?!
Question: Obviously i'm taking it on doctor's order, but I've been taking it for a week and nothing's changed. Can anyone give me a ballpark on how long i need to be taking it for it to help -- 2 weeks? 3? A month? Etc.
Thanks.

It took about 3 weeks for the physical effects, but I started feeling better within a few days. It was the placebo effect. I started taking a pill daily and I felt relief that I was being treated.
around 3 weeks
Usually takes about 3 weeks, but if you don't feel nothing after the 3 weeks talk to your Dr he/she might have to up the dose. for me it was 2 weeks that I felt somthing starting to happen. Also it depends on the meds check it out by engine search the name
I would say about two weeks. As I had prozac years ago and that really zombified me. And I hate taking those anti depressants. Some anti depressants are very good, and it may work for you and some dont. Trial and error. Counselling I think works well for depression as you are getting advice and it feels good.
When I started taking Prozac I felt immensely better within a week.
Probably, if you haven't felt any change within a couple of weeks I'd call the Dr. It may depend on the medicine being taken and why.
It generally takes 3 weeks to get properly into the system, and you'll start to notice a difference as the inbalanced chemical causing the depression will re-balance..
Happy Days..
