Fed up of life and sitting behind a computer, what to do?!

Question: Hey guys,

I'm 21 years old and healthy, no illnesses or anything.

I rarely go out but I do enjoy my own company. I spend most of my day on the computer and i'm just really fed up and depressed now.

I'm really good on computers, I do web designing and stuff in my own time, but I am so fed up of sitting behind a computer and dunno if I wanna spend the rest of my life using one. I just started a college course in web design aswell.

The people around my way are not my type of ppl so I dont mix with them so I have like 1 friend.

I really dunno what to do, sometimes I just wish I wasn't alive. I'm not ugly or anything, I have no GF split with my ex quite while ago now. I just wanna get out in the world and do things, see things. I love nature, art, animals so many things. All I ever do is cook and clean for my mum and run around for ppl :(

Mum says, get a job and you'll be happy but I dont believe money will buy me happiness :(...

I think Mum might be right with the job, but I'd say not because of money just because when you're at work it's kinda like a second family..I mean besides home, we are at work a majority of the day.

Second issue I think you would benefit from helping out people less fortunate then you. Go volunteer YOU! You have many qualities I'm sure of that can mentor a young child, or elderly person..or maybe help out at whatever your good at. If you enjoy comic books... bring maybe your collection to a local hospital and read to sick kids.

The above help may not make you feel 100% better but I guarantee it'll make you have purpose and that's all you need..is to feel like you have purpose and that you are apart of this world.

I think you'll be fine.

:)

Maybe getting a job will help, but not because of the money. A job will force you to get out of the house and will allow you to meet new people.

buy some paints and canvases and take a trek to a nearby nature spot and paint the scene... go horsebackriding...get a dog( there are alot that need a friend to adopt them) and no money doesnt bring happiness but a job gets you out of the house and into a different element and atmosphere

First of all, I think you should check into seeing a councelor, probably not what you wanted to hear, however they do have meds you can take to help with the depression. If no one is holding you back, get out and do the things you want to do. Just set your mind to it, and Do it... Are there any groups you could join to meet new people, do you go to church? You Have to make yourself get out of the house, I know I have been there..

You know finding a job might not be so bad, you will definately meet new people and may become good friends with some. Not only that, you have your own money to spend.
No, money won't buy you happiness but meeting others might help a great deal! Go for it!
Good Luck!

Oh my gosh... Stop hiding with the computer.. Get out and enjoy life even if you enjoy your own company!!! You'll be surprised.. you may meet some people that you enjoy hanging out with!!! And your mom is right-- get a job!!!! Maybe at an art museum... No the money won't make you happy, it's what you are doing that will!!
