I keep crying.?!

Question: im a very emotional person, always have been

at the moment my life is going well, i have a loving boyfriend, my family is close and happy, i just got a new well paying job ect.

unfortunately i tend to overthink things, like, everything about life.

i get very sad about all the awful things about our existence on this little spinning rock. i watched 'life begins' tonight and cried for about 20 mins because some old guy lost his wifes pills, tried to make up for it by making dinner, then while giving her dinner in bed he forgot to turn off the stove and the kitchen filled with smoke, he cried because she ran down to help him clear up the mess, and he burned his hands, it makes me cry just thinking about it!

then i saw an ad for a show later about animal protection saving a drowning cow, i started crying again...

please help, this is mentally exhausting.

please read the additional info, as i ran out of room.

Well, forget that EMO crap. You're human! I feel that way sometimes...when all we hear on TV is bad news and in the news, it's all about people dying. Who wouldn't be sad by that? Anyway, I think focusing on the positives, (your job, boyfriend, etc) will remind you that you are lucky, and you will appreciate them more because as you can see, there is a lot of tragedy in the world.

I have a jard time watching war documentaries, because to me it is too disturbing. I would try talking about it to your friends/boyfriend next time you feel that way.

I know I always used to feel very small, and I was scared that one day everything would be ripped away from me. But, just vocalize it. Write it down, talk to someone, no one should judge you, thereis nothing wrong with you. It's good to see someone else out there with some awareness and compassion!

Send me a message anytime!

Stop being an EMO!!!

Life is too short to be worrying about things you can't control. Just try to have fun. If it's to much for you to handle, go see a doctor, who can probably prescribe a medication for your situation.

dont worry everyone has a certain emotional level

I really dont want to read all that. But remember this There is no time for self pitty. you get nothing accomplished when your feeling sad for yourself. no one else cares that your sad. And the wheel in the sky keeps turning. time isnt gonna stop for you its gonna keep on moving so you need to pick your self up and move with it or youll just start wasting your time, which leads to wasting days to months to years and your life will be nothig is that what you want?? It is your life is it where you want to be?????????

You too much empathy, that being the key word, i suggest and this is as easy as this, but stay away from newspapers, the news and try to watch comedys instead, or do happy things.

Be grateful for the happiness you have its ok, to swtch off for a few days every now and then and be selfish and grateful for what you do have, it doesn't mean you care any less, you have a big heart.

Just take a break from the worldly problems at least for 3 days a week ! no news, no newspapers, no sad stories ! 3 days.

xox

OK You need have a trip . Trip in your yesterdays and look for what are you crying?

you obviously haven't seen worse things in this world, i dont know why you're crying...there are massacres and wars going on in countries around the world...while you cry because of a drowning cow? you should be happy to live in a country where genocides, civil wars, and massacres dont happen....dont be sad...trust me, it's not as bad as you see it...as you said...you have it good, you have money, you love your boyfriend, your parents are happy....what's there to complain about? If you want you can always move to thailand where 5 year old girls get raped and kidnapped to work as prostitutes, or in some parts of africa where they murder you because of your beliefs or what tribe you belong to or move to the middle east so you can see suicide bombers blow up before your eyes every day....APPRECIATE WHAT YOU'VE GOT AND STOP CRYING!

Your concerns are real and are a hinge for the question Hawking asked about the human race surviving another 100 years.

What you are seeing hurts so much that many people turn their heads and ignore it. Why? Because humanity does not have a solution. The "strong" and the ignorant wonder why you care so much...

Since humanity has not and apparently cannot solve their predicament, then there remains the valid question of whether there is a God who cares; Why he would permit this situation; and whether he will act to fix things.

If there IS a God who cares; who has permitted humanity to go their merry way so as to allow them opportunity to establish for themselves whether they need help or not (some people STILL won't admit that we do...) and If he will act, not just to STOP the madness but to heal the pain; THEN there is hope...

That's what Jehovah's Witnesses feel the Bible is all about:

HOW humans got themselves into this mess; WHY a loving God would permit it; WHAT he intends to do about it to fix the Earth and humanity upon it; and HOW we ought to respond, now that humanity has run it's course and "time is up"

I'd recommend that you direct your questions, locally, to one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

There is no political solution.

I think I might be able to give you some insight.

When I started my nursing, we were told, taught, harped on at about detatching ourselves emotionally. Because otherwise it's just too distressing and you burn out.

What that means, is when you see/hear something, what you are probably saying in your subconscious is "what if that was me / my mother / my father etc.etc.

In other words, you are personalising everything.

i watched life begins tonight, and I know the scene you're talking about. It was beautifully written and acted. The desired effect was to get the viewer to emotionally attach to the character. My eyes watered up too. And at the end, I went 'thank god it's just tv." Finish. No relating it to me or anyone around me.

Join something where you can make a monthly donation. It really helps. You see sadness in the world, and you can say to yourself "I am doing my bit". Don't let all the knockers put you off. There are heaps of people capable of improving others plight, they are experts and don't need you in the way, but they can't do it with nothing. So just give something.

You need to de breif yourself the minute the tears start. Put it in perspective. That was sad, I felt it, life moves on. And you need to do it every time. It doesn't make you cold, or a cow, it is self preservation.

You are no use to yourself or those you would like to help if you fall apart at the mere suggestion of sadness.

If you can't do this, turn the damn tv off. We live in a time when we get information overload. It is absolutely OK to decide to turn it off from time to time.

Hope something here helps. You are not an emo.
Some people who surf this site are just insensitive.
