Well I'm assuming you don't want to go to a doctor...
So you could try reading self help books about depression, change of work place, change of friends.
I found that by writing down things in a journal really helps, because if for some reason you can't or don't want to talk to someone, at least you're getting your feelings out.

Surround yourself with happy and out-going people, that really makes a difference also.

What works for me or others may not work for you, so try different things, until you find something that works for you.

I love taking drives in the country by myself, blasting the radio or going to the beach when it's warm out and just sitting for hours by the water......

Lots of caffeine & sugar usually peps me up.

I think exercise and having a routine are some of the best ways. That is what helps me. The tricky part is forcing yourself to do it.

Get saved, ask God to save you. After you do that you will go to heaven when you die. Then pray. God doesnt want you to be depressed. I guarentee you if you get saved you will be cheerful and happier than ever!!!

talk to a therapist he might give you some meds that make you 10 times better.

I would say join a local community center and volunteer. It's probably not your cup of tea but it gets your mind off of the thought of depression. Or just go out meet new people to find a different environment. Don't let depression beat you

When you mean By YOURSELF do you mean with no medical help such as an anti depressant. You can go to a therapist and tell them your problem or you can open up to a very trustworthy friend. If you mean entirely by yourself you can write in a journal and jot down your deep thoughts that are keeping you sad. Are you depressed always or is just when you remember something, sorry for the minimum help.

you need a total rest for youself don't rush your self sometimes you will remember the unhappy moments but instead of that stick to happiest moment to change your mood or its better to eat lots of chocolate..........

I think keeping busy with helping others and getting involved with new interest. You have to try different things that keeps your mind going in a good direction. Drugs can screw you up more. Try to think what gets you depressed? Than thank God you can go out and help others.

get busy. go out, join a fitness class, pottery class, or just take up something you like. go out and find buy some new clothes, get your hair done and feel good about how you look.
i have suffered from depression since i was 3 on and off, im 22 now and i have been on fluoxetene for the last year and it makes me feel better about myself and i actually want to get out of bed and do things now.
if you take energy vitamins it also might help you, you will have more energy to do things you like.

its great that you want to battle it by yourself but it is very hard to do, especially if you have been dealing with it for 2 years. maybe you need to just talk to someone.
dont feel ashamed if you do want to talk to a doctor.

You need to find things to do. Keep busy. Join a gym, a club, go walking or do anything that will occupy your time. Staying busy is the key to not being depressed. It keeps your mind busy.

get counsellings. there is nothing better than taking to somebody about your problems. it a great release off tension. also you can ask your doctor for ant-depressants.
