ACTUALLY.. i have taken both Lexapro and Wellbutrin.. I lost ALOT of weight on wellbutrin.. and my doctor told me that Lexapro can make you lose weight too since it balances your appetite and at this time i am overeating due to depression. But i have read that some people gain weight on Lexapro so i will have to see how that plays out since I have only been taking Lexapro for a week now. Wellbutrin is great and actually my doctor asked me if i wanted to go back on wellbutrin since i took it acouple years ago, but i think my deppression is worst now and i decided to try something new and a little more stronger... But YES! Wellbutrin does help you lose weight.. it did for me..

if that is what the doctor said then go with wellbutrin

i take seraquel is awesomw also take prozac have taken lexpro was ok

I've been on wellbutrin for years. It works very well for me.
Gives me a little lift (my depression leaves me lethargic)
so it's easier to get things done.....

Ask your doctor to be treated nutritionally. Look up Testing for hypoglycemia below. Copy the attached letter and present to the doctor.

Let him read: Depression a Nutritional Disorder. And/or test yourself with the

The Nutrition-Behavior Inventory Questionnaire (NBI) at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/...

and the

The Hypo Quizz at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.org/hypo_test.as...

I have been on both and went on Wellbutrin because Lexapro completely killed my sex drive.
Wellbutrin helping you LOSE weight is new to me...however, it's probably more like a possible side effect (most anti-depressants carry the risk of weight loss or gain).

Wellbutrin being used for depression is really more of an "offlabel" finding. It's origin was actually as a smoking cessation drug (lovely, huh?), so, if you think about how smokers deal with going off of nicotene...well I guess it could go either gain or loss. I believe I actually gained on mine..but it just depends on you.

Good luck!
