Is this depression or just regular sadness?!

Question: Is it normal to just feel completely left out, paranoid, sad (to tears), for really no reason? I am 32 years old so I'm not having teen identity problems or anything. I get waves of feeling this way and I just want to cry, even though nothing in specific happens. It doesn't last for weeks or anything, just a day. It happens maybe once every week or two. I'm taking Celexa (minimum dosage) but maybe it's just not working? I'm on that for anxiety, but I haven't noticed much of a difference. I've been taking it for about 3 months. Is this something everyone goes through?

In my experience, "sadness" is something that comes over me when there is a definite and specific cause -- like somebody dying or somebody moving away or something like that.

"Depression" to me is when I feel down but for no reason that I can identify.

They say that having "depression" for more than two weeks is of enough concern that you should see an MD about it. Maybe the same one that is prescribing the Celexa can help you look at antidepressants if they are necessary.

jog a mile or two, it helps i swear

Your are definitly depressed. Call your doctor, and ask to either up the dose or to change you to another med.
I am taking 80 mg of Prozac and its not doing anything for me, but has in the past.
