Does this sound like a mental condition???!

Question: Does this sound like a mental condition!?!?!?
For a while I've been wondering if there is something wrong with me:

~I am getting over a MILD case of trichotillomania (hair eating, chewing) It was a nervous compulsion and i still twirl my hair all day long but i stopped chewing off the ends and pulling out strands!.

~I get VERY VERY possesive of MY things!. Example: My freind started to like the same singer i like and i FREAKED OUT!. I didn't tell her but i know it was abnormal!.

~Sometimes i smile when i want to frown

~I don't cry almost at all, even when i feel really really bad i never cry more than like 3 tears!.

~I get nervous for no reason sometimes!. SERIOUSLY NERVOUS and so i kind of try to make it so i have a reason to be nervous like i start to think about my future or something I'm doing, just to give it some focus!.

~My mom is bipolar (just so you know my family history)

~I am hyper almost all the time but sometimes i get so tired i can hardly get out of bed!.

Any idea's!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Anything that happens in your mind is a mental condition!. There is no clear dividing line between 'normal' (whatever that may mean) and 'abnormal'!.

We all have some funny quirks in the way we think and feel!. What you describe is particular to you, but each bit of it you have in common with loads of other people!. I'm a psychotherapist, and so perhaps I WOULD say this, but I think if you could go to good counselling or psychotherapy, you might find a way to understand and change the way it is for you!. Smiling when you want to frown suggests that there's quite a strong rule in your family to be OK - perhaps your mother's bipolar issues are quite enough for the family to deal with, and you have got the message (doesn't have to be spoken, ever) that you need to be OK!. The hyper and nervous stuff might be a cover for other feelings that are less acceptable in your family, like anger!. Whatever it is, psychotherapy really can help!.

Good luck - whatever is 'wrong' with you, you're just like most of us, with some psychological problems to grapple with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to be tested, with your family history it is possible you have some issues!. The only way you will really know is if you see a psychiatrist or a therapist!. Try and do some searches online for personality tests!. These are free tests that can evaluate your symptoms!. Google "free personality disorder tests" Good luck!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't focus so much on differences and similarities between you and the world!. it'll just make you self-conscious!. no there doesn't seem like there's anything wrong!. lots of people dont cry, and get really nervous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
