Question: Has anyone ever heard of a single use of xanax leading to immediate suicide!?
my friend hung himself this past weekend!. there was a small party at the home he shares with some roommates!. there was drinking and recreational drug use at the party!. it was reported that my friend had been drinking and had taken 4-5 xanax!.
some kind of ruckus ensued on the ground floor of the house!. the police were called to remove a rowdy party-goer!. when another guest was sent to the basement to retrieve the rowdy guy's cell, the guest found my friend hanging from a floor joist, dead!.
now, my friend was in his late 40s, has led quite a fast life--never married, no kids, no reason to grow up as much as the rest of us--but he was always happy-go-lucky, he had seen much worse adversity in life than any he was currently experiencing, and the only pill myself and others can remember him ever taking was percocet!.
i've taken benzodiazapines by Rx and i would think that taking 4-5 of them with alcohol would render you unable to tie your shoes, let alone a noose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it wasn't the xanax alone!. unless he already had suicidal thoughts and the xanax eased any anxiety he had about suicide!. maybe he was to scared to kill himself and the anxiolytic nature of the booze and xanax gave him the courage to go through with it!. sorry bout your friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Absolutely not!. He was depressed and suicidal whether it was apparent or not and taking the Xanax simply disinhibited him enough to carry out the tragic act!. So, I guess, in a sense it did indirectly lead to the suicide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have been taking xanax for 4 yrs now!. I got to the point lately that I would take 9 or 10 a day!. They do render you helpless where you really cannot do anything!. If you drink with them and take a few like he did you will not be able to tie your shoes let alone a noose!. It sounds like to me he had a little help!. Did the M!.E!. say it was a suicide!? It could be fowl play!. There is no way that on that many xanax he could have done that and it work!.
