Good ways to ignore the voices...?!

Question: Good ways to ignore the voices!.!.!.!?
I've had a problem with hearing voices (since I was little) but lately they have gotten louder!.!.!.!.much louder!. I just got out of the hospital tuesday for suicidal ideation and hallucinations and I was doing better!.!.!.But it seems that everything has taken a nose dive back to where it was before I went to the hospital!. And I am on 90mg of Cymbalta, 900mg of Seroquel, 1mg (twice daily) of Ativan, and 10mg of ambien (at night)!.!.

The voices are telling me to take all my ativan when both my husband and father in law have left for work (they both work 3rd)!.!.!.I'm scared that I won' be able to fight the voices!.!.!.and I can't go back to the hospital!.!.I just go out a few days ago!.!.!.I already feel like a failure!.!.going back to the hospital only days after getting out will make me even more of a failure!.

Any advice on what I can do to quiet the voices!?
ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A walkman real loud can be good I've heard!.

Call a friend or family member to come take the Ativan away!. Call someone to talk on the phone or to come over and visit!. You can call your psychiatrist and tell him you are flushing all of your Ativan except what you should take today and tomorrow!. That might be a good thing to do!. Get rid of it however you can!. Then it doesn't matter what the voices say about taking it!. More importantly, your psychiatrist needs to know that Seroquel isn't quieting the voices enough!. It doesn't take long to do its thing, so if it's not working yet, he needs to know now!.

Maybe go for a walk!. Get out of the house where there are other things to see and be distract by!. A little exercise might help, too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've heard that listening to a walkman can help you to ignore the voices!. I hear voices but they don't bother me because I am able to ignore them!. I used to write everything down that the voices said, but now I just tell myself that I have to accept it because I have schizophrenia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your psychiatrist and tell him whats going on!. DO NOT TAKE ALL OF YOU'RE ATIVAN! You may have to be hospitalized again!. In the end its for your own good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

watch tv, listen to the radio, turn the music on really loud, call a friend, come on y!a!Www@Answer-Health@Com

what helped me the most was to NOT respond to the voices!. Seemed like the more i talked to them the more aggravated i got the more worse they seemed!. Just act like they are not even there, and act like you dont hear them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to find a med that works for you!. I don't think turning up the walkman is going to help!. I even tried turning the tv up louder, yet the voices still came!. I'm on rispderal which keeps the voices at bay!. I think you need to tell your doc that your med cocktail is just not working!. Do you do counseling!? Maybe you need to find a way to not listen to the voices!. It sounds like you know that they are halluciantions so that should give you some control over them!. My voices insult me and call my name over and over!. You just can't take them literally!. Try throwing away your stash!. After all they are only voices!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
