Question: Has anybody dealt with Drug Addictions!?
My brother is an addict and I don't know how to communicate with him anymore!. His wife left him with their kids and is living with us and he has been suicidal lately!. I would appreciate any advice that could be supplied!.

He needs a counsellor or someone to talk to and so do you you can not reason with addicts there mind is not clear they understand part of what they are doing they just have no control !. I dont think calling the cops helps drug addicts are not criminals we all have some form of addiction be it smoking eating exercising whatever unfortunately alcohol and drugs are lethal and not easy controlled !. go to na they have it for families also !. the person will have to stop and find something within themselves no amount of threatening anythig will stop someone !.Get intrevention now dont wait go to church and talk with a preacher !. You are a good person fro trying to help most people walk away and have no comprehension of what addicts go through and forget the human aspect !. No I am not a addict but have had experience with a family member and friend and just saw how some people became angry and mean about this person problem !. People need help and most will have to help themselves and will when they are ready but you have to keep helping and encouraging !. It is best his kids and wife left this is a horrible situation for children I witnessed a friend in this kind of situation and was not niceWww@Answer-Health@Com
my best friend used to be a drug addict and really the only thing you can do is to try to tell him it's wrong and GET THE KIDS OUT OF THERE! it's a awful environment, and they'll emulate what they see, and then there's another whole problem!. as for the suicidal part, i'd definitely get him either in a rehab for that or drug usage, as either one will deal with the other!. but seriosly get the kids out, and if this doesn't work, just call the cops!. you wont regret it if you save their lives and his, and he might be mad at you but when he sees how much better it is he'll thank you, although he might not ever tell you so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dope fiends need to hit bottom! the best thing you can do is keep his wife and kids safe, get all the money and liquid assets away from him, set strict ground rules for what is and is not acceptable behavior from him (no coming around while high etc!.)
he's been to 4 rehabs, he knows how to find help when he is ready! in the meantime-PRAY!

My aunt is in rehab right now!. and im supposed to see her very soon!. just tell him that what he's doing is veryy veryy wrong and he should quit he's just killing himself by doing the drug!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
