Fear of failure?!

Question: Fear of failure!?
Over the years, I've developed a fear of failing at things!. I start thinking that I'm not going to pass, I'm not going to do well, I'm going to fail miserably and everyone is going to see it, and it's got me caught in a state of being unable to do anything!.
I'm afraid to get on stage and perform solos, which was once easier than pie!. I'm terrified that I'll forget the notes, the crowd will start booing, and I'll never be able to look any of them in the eye again, because they saw me fail!.
I'm afraid to get up in front of groups of people, because I think they'll laugh at me, ridicule me until I stop trying to speak in public!.
I stress myself out about tests that I should be able to pass with no problem, because I always overthink what will actually show up on the test, and know too much about specifics and not about the broad topic!.
People keep telling me to relax, but I don't think it's that easy!.
Does anyone else know where I'm coming from!? What did you do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have anxiety issues!. Talk to your family doctor about this!. Then go from there!. Usually, they will test you and prescribe you a medicine!. If you think it needs further action, then your doctor to recommend a therapist!.

Anxiety disorder runs in my family!. I have it to a degree!. I'm learning to take one step at a time!. Fear, besides yourself, is your worst enemy!.

It also sounds like you have a self-esteem problem!. That, to me, can hurt you the most!. You need to recognize that no one is above one another!. All are equal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My French teacher once told me I was afraid of failing!. During a speaking test he asked a question I hadn't remembered to prepare for and I got panicky!. I'd spent hours the night before making sure I knew answers to the questions word for word but hadn't expected this one!. After stuttering my way the test he gave me a B minus and I started crying!. (This is so funny looking back!.!. I was about 15 and crying!.!.)!. Anyway, he said I was afraid of failing and I realised it was true!. I was so angry I was determined to fail at things for a while!. I tried things i knew I was rubbish at and had avoided before!. In class I refused to answer questions and failed my next 2 speakings tests to rebel against him!.

It turned out okay in the end!. I realised I was being unreasonable and re-took the tests!. Because I had a reputation of being perfect at school it was really quite fun to be not so perfect in everyone's eyes and shock them with my failure!.

Good luck getting over it!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Fear, is BAD!. False Evidence Appearing Real!. Fear gets you allllll worked up and scared and anxious in an attempt to keep you from life, from living it, living it to the fullest, or simply just accomplishing something in it!. Example!.!.!.!.a man at his job is always worried and fearful that his boss is looking down on him, that his boss secretly thinks he's doing a terrible job, that he may even get fired!. He puts so much attention on fearing about this that it starts to affect his work performance and he actually does start doing a bad job and his boss does start having some problems with him, when in the beginning his boss actually thought he was doing a great job and even wanted to give him a raise! Fear is very damaging to ones life, it holds you back and that's it's sole purpose!. It can even cause the very thing you're fearing to happen, when without fearing it, it never would have happened at all! Fear is BAD!!! Even if you DO fail at something!? That is OKAY!. You have to at least TRY to know if you will fail or not, and if you do, you may fail once or twice but the third time you succeed beyond what you even thought you would!. I find the only thing that rids my life of fear is God, seriously!. Fear is straight from hell (the devil is out to kill, steal, and destroy right!?) Well fear is one of his tactics, but not when God is in your life!. You are untouchable to that crap with Him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You answered my question with this -

"The one thing that drove me crazy jealous was when I knew that the man I was interested in was out with another woman!. Specifically, he had told me about it a day or two in advance, and had said that he wasn't all that interested in her, but felt he owed it to her for some reason or another!. I sat around that entire night, furious that he was going out with someone else, instead of me, and all I had to do was sit around and be grumpy about it!. He clinched it by calling me at the end of the date, and saying how horrible it had been, and how he wished he'd spent the evening with me, instead!.

Thank the Gods I got rid of him when he told me what he'd done!."Www@Answer-Health@Com
