Exercise and anxiety?!


Question: Exercise and anxiety!?
I suffer from anxiety and have been put on Xanax which helps most of the time but not always!. I read that exercise will help a great deal!. Is there any special exercises that help!. I'm 58yrs old!. I need help ASAP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem with Xanax (from personal experience) is you can be on a scheduled dose (like every 6-8 hours) & it works in the begining but you develope a tolerance!. How long have you been taking the medication!? I bet it worked for maybe the 1st year & now you have to take it more often right!? I had some bad experiences while taking Xanax & after taking it for almost 10 years, I realized I was worst off than wen I started taking it, so I too 6 weeks off work & slowly weaned off it & fired my psychiatrist because I figured out that taking meds made me more anxious!. I assesed my condition, got off all medication, started taking "Valarian Root" (an herbal supplement) & haven't had any problems for 3 years now!. Of course the worst experience in hindsight was getting off the Xanax!. (I don't recommend doing this yourself if you chose to do so)!.

Excersise is important as well to help release anxiety & raise endorphin levels!. Jogging is a good start or anything that gives you a good cardio-workout!. Eat as much fruit & veggies that you can & try to eat less meat!.

Aerobic exercises can help in that they raise the endorphins and you may feel better!.

However, My doctor said working out with weights is perhaps more effectual!. All of the vented up feelings is released when you lift weights or engage in other muscle strengthening tasks!.

Try to buy some hand weights and lift them whenever you feel anxiety or are stressed!. It's amazing how this will make you feel!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm glad the Xanax helps now give it a real boost with a little exercise!. I for a fact know that a little exercise goes a long way in improving ones mental state!. It does not need to be strenuous!.
A brisk walk, some stretching, yeah, get down on the floor and stretch out some of those muscles!. You'll feel energized but don't over do!. Take you time and enjoy the endeavor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
