Question: Are the body and mind on different sleep "patterns"!?
So I have insomnia, and I usually lay in bed for several hours before falling asleep!. My question IS NOT should I see a doctor or not, it is this: If my body is remaining still is it re-energizing!? Or does your body only regain this energy when the body is unconcious!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well the body regains energy whether your awake or sleep, as long as your not moving alot and burning energy!.
But as your awake there's a certain alertness that requires a certan type of energy from the brain, and sometimes you'll notice this alertness becoming somewhat drowsy, that's your brain pretty much telling you it wants to turn this alertness to low power!. If your stressed, full of caffiene, ect!. Then this alertness is high and so no drowsiness!. If that makes any sense!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You wake up but cant move your body -

This is most likely Sleep paralysis - In order to stop you from acting out your dreams while your asleep your body produces a hormones that inhibit movement

The only thing you really need to worry about is that its often accompanied by horrific halusinations and a heavy chest - making it hard to breathe

If this happens often to you I advise seeing a doctor incase there is another cause!.
