Am I depressed? Please help!?!

Question: Am I depressed!? Please help!!?
I think that I am depressed!. I have been this way for a long time!. Since I was 11 and I am almost 15 now!.

Here is what is happening to me - I am sad and lonely all of the time!. Isolating myself from friends and family!. Think that no one loves me and that I am worthless!. Hating myself and my body so much that I have taken to making myself throw up my meals!. (Been doing that for almost a year) Getting really stressed out all the time!. Always wanting to break down and cry!. Started cutting myself!. (Been doing it for about 9 months) I don't even want to go to school or do my homework anymore! And I used to love school!

Ever since I started high school a few weeks ago it has just been getting worse!. It usually comes in waves like I will feel like this for a week and then I won't for another week or two and then I will again!. But it has been almost a month and a half now and it hasn't gone away!. I don't know what to do!.

My parents told me that I was fine and that it was just normal teenage mood swings, but I KNOW that it is more! My friends called me an attention seeker and told me to grow up and stop feeling sorry for myself!. I know that there is something wrong with me though!.!.!.

What do you think!?

I think you do have some issues that need to be dealt with!. It seems like you have depression and possibly a body-image disorder!. You need to get this dealt with ASAP, because mental illnesses can get out of hand very quickly!.

I would suggest you talk to your counsellor to see if they can get you a referral to a therapist or psychiatrist, or go to your doctor and ask for a referral!. Your parents don't understand, but perhaps they may be more so if they see how serious you are about it!. You may also want to do a bit of research and print it out to show them!. Depression is a big problem and it goes beyond "normal teenage mood swings", which they need to learn!.

As for your friends!.!.!. you really need to find some better ones!. Anyone that insensitive doesn't deserve to be called your friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all,, cutting is not normal, and it will leave permanent scars!. Second of all the vomiting is not normal!. Try talking to a school counselor!. You are crying out for help, that is the first step to recovery!. If the school doesn't help, look online for help lines, even call 911!.

You are strong person, going through a hard time!. Seek help, your behavior is not normal!.

You can make it through this hard time, I have faith in you!. BE STRONG!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please please PLEASE tell someone, don't try and fight this on your own!. Tell a school nurse or councilor if telling your parents is too hard!.
I was in your exact position a few years ago (im nearly 18 now)!.
I didn't tell anyone or get help, and i'm still depressed and lonely all those years on, I find it hard to leave the house!.

You are depressed and more!. The cutting and purging is serious and dangerous it needs to be addressed!. If your parents won't do anything see your school counselor asap!. This can be treated but you need to take the first step!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you probably are, but I don't think labels are as important as many other people seem to!. I have been in and (thankfully!) out of depressive moods for years, mostly without help from professionals!.

If you want therapy, seek it!. Everyone who wants it, deserves it in my opinion!. Also, though, remember that you can improve your life by making positive choices!. Read self help books!. Try Feeling Good by David Burns for starters!. Choose to do things that make you happy!. Also, STOP throwing up all the time!. You are going to absolutely ruin your teeth (my sister did), and possibly more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You do indeed suffer from depression!. It is more than simple mood swings!. Either go see your school counselor, or see your family doctor!. It is treatable with medication!.

I also suffered from depression a few years ago, but not to the extent you are describing!. If you go to church talk to your pastor!. If you do not, there are a number of pastors in your area who will be willing to listen to you!.

The most important thing is that you find someone to talk about this with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to the school counselor!. Get your parents involved, so they can understand, and your parents will know what to do when he/she talks to them and you!. Also try not to vomit!. It you vomit anymore, then you'll loose so much weight, you might die!.

The cutting needs to stop immediately, cut anymore, then you'll end up loosing all of your blood, and eventually die!. Just talk to your friends, so they can understand!. And Always to to think positive, that way you won't end up cutting yourself afterward!.

Good Luck!!
