I heard people with those mood disorders take lithium but that's prescription!.!.!.Is there anything else that's non-prescription!? Also, how can a kid/teen go to a doctor to get a prescription w/o their parents!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There's no non prescription medications for these!. They're also not safe to treat on your own!. You need regular visits with a doctor to check for problems and to monitor your condition!. Lithium itself is one of the more dangerous drugs to take!.
If you're over the age of 16 in most states, you're entitled to confidential health care - if you see a doctor, that doctor can't speak to anyone other than you (and necessary health care staff) about your condition, what you talked about, prescriptions, or even acknowledge that you are a patient at all!. However, if you use your parent's health insurance, they can see charges on that!.
Many states have a program that gives health insurance to people under the age of 18, regardless of family income, to see a doctor and get prescriptions for sensitive, stigmatized issues like sexual health and mental illness!. California had one for many years, but I believe it was recently discontinued due to California not having any money!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First you have to be diagnosed by a psychiatrist before you can be given any medication!. Lithium is no longer the only medication to treat bipolar disorder, it's not even the first drug to try anymore!. As a teen you have to have your parents permission to be prescribed any drug!. Sorry, you will have to talk to your parents and have them take you to your doctor as a start!. St!. John's Wort can be helpful in mild cases of depression but there is no real OTC that helps with mood disorders!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
