Question: When and where did the first credited case of bi-polar come from!?
Answers:
If I remember correctly from my abnormal psych class, Van Gogh was the first documented case of bipolar disorder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It was called Manic Depression!. It's over diagnosed, if you go to a psychiatrist, they will most likely say you are Bi-Polar if you say you are depressed, and have some highs and lows!.

A German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin coined the term Manic Depressive!. But the disorder has been known for at least a thousand years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Contrary to the belief of some anti-psychiatry morons, 'bipolar disorder' is NOT a newfangled idea created as an excuse for bad parenting, lack of self-control and laziness!.

The terms melancholia (meaning depression) and mania have been around since the Ancient Greeks, and the idea that there was some connection between the two was around as early as the 2nd century AD!.

The current idea of bipolar disorder can be traced to the 1850s!.

Mental illness is, I believe, as old as mankind!. What we call it, how we treat it, and how we perceive those who have it, has changed almost continuously throughout the centuries!. It is our duty to make sure that those changes are for the better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It has been around for as long as man has!. It's just a fancy word for dull ole depression and believe me it's pure hell to life with!Www@Answer-Health@Com
