Opinion question on the economy?!

1- People are spending less, especially on food, recent surveys in the UK show that people are spending more on cheap brands and fish and chips are experiencing a boom!.
2 - Less holidays are being taken abroad, people are spending more going on holiday in the UK, rather than expensinve holidays abroad!.
3 - Car sales are down and car manufacturers are slashing their prices and offering special interest free loans and discounts, there are far more adverts on TV, especially for four by fours now, which never really had to advertise before!.
4 - House prices are falling as people can't sell, and the other side of the market are buying less and waiting to see how far the prices will go!. many families are in negative equity, where the price of their house has fallen so much that if they sold their house now they would still owe more to the bank than they got for it!. This has also lead to a new practice opposite to gazumping, where buyers wait until the last minute and threaten to pull out of the sale unless
