I just lost my job due to my work performance and I have a serious mental illness that interferes with work!. I received warnings and I even told my supervisor that I was having problems, but that didn't help and I was given no special accomadation!. If I were you I wouldn't say anything to your employer as they just don't care anyways!.

Do you live in a city or a small town!? If you live in a decent sized city or you know that your town offers some type of mental health service that could be beneficial to you!. So go to your local human and family services building and just ask and see what they can do for you!.

If you are thinking about applying for social security disability you need to have a doctor sign off on it , but I've never heard of a person who has ADHD get benefits!. I know that people who have schizophrenia, bipolar, and severe forms of depression can get it, but not quite sure in your case!.

Good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt if there are any disability benefits available to you because you need to have walking difficulties or need help with personal care during the day and night!. If you lost your job through your behaviour, then you may get some if you can prove you have learning disabilities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will need a medical certificate and a medical report to confirm or deny or ADHD Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can't get benefits for ADHD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ADHD on it's own will not entitle you to benefits!.
If you feel medication was helping you then go back to your doctor, see if they can prescibe some to you also ask about alternative therapies!. Try to find a local support group, it does feel like most of these are targeted at children with ADHD, but if they can't help they'll get you in touch with someone that can, and they're always after volunteers which as an adult with ADHD you'll be ideal for!.
As for your job situation, perhaps look for a new job in a different field find something that'll interest you and engage you suffeciently, also make sure you're employer is aware of the 'condition' and they have a duty to support you in your work!.
take a look at
www!.adders!.org for a group near you and other info &

Edit: If your work don't know when it's affecting your performance it's no wonder you lose your jobs really, I don't have ADHD but someone very close to me does I don't profess to know all and if I'm honest I'm still sceptical of it, and I know this attitude doesn't help you but seeing how it effects the guy I know has made me a little more understanding!. It may be difficult to tell your boss but if you don't you could lose your job for actions beyond your control!. Have a chat with someone at work your manager or someone from personnel pref, let them know when you're struggling and why before it all gets on top of you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
