How do I get rid of my postpartum depression?!

Question: How do I get rid of my postpartum depression!?
I won't go see a doctor on my own for help, I'm too embarrassed!. I've told my husband about everything-almost-in hopes of him taking me to a doctor but he seems to forget about the whole thing!. I want help so badly but nobody seems to realize that there really is something wrong with me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best of moms get postpartum depression!. There's nothing to be ashamed about! This is not a weakness, it's an illness!. One in seven women get ppd to some degree!. You need a solid plan of action for wellness: sleep at night, good nutrition (there are specific nutrients that will help you), emotional support and physical support (regular breaks throughout the week away from your child(ren) and the house)!. For many women, this is all they need to start them on the road to recovery!. You deserve to be happy! For your sake and your family's sake, get whatever help you need to recover!.

The answer is litterally right in front of you friend!. Breast feed! Breast feeding releases seretonin into the bloodstream!. This is the "feel good" hormone responsible for everything from mood regulation to orgasm!. In fact, it has been expressed by breast feeding mothers that they experience a euphoric feeling similar to orgasm while breast feeding!. This is how your body was designed!. Also, eat bananas! They contain nutrients that promote anti-depression hormones in your body!. As for your reliance upon your husband to get you medical attention, he is also adjusting to the new baby and may be so pre-occupied with his desire to provide for you and the baby that he is distracted!. Post-partum depression is a very serious condition if left un-checked!. You need to take your mental health into your own hands and get yourself to the Dr!. this continues!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree, you don't need someone to go with you!. Remember, just because he won't go with you does not mean that he won't support you through this after the doctor gives instructions!.

He probably doesn't think something is wrong because feeling down afterwards is normal!. Plus your body is recovering and you probably aren't getting very good sleep, so that alone will cause problems!.

Try laying it on the line: tell your husband flat out what you need!. Even if all you say is "Honey, I am feeling so horrible and I need your support" he loves you, and men love to solve problems, so lay it out as you need him to help solve your problem and watch him come to your aid!.

Worse comes to worse, tell him you aren't feeling well (too tired and unforcused) so you want him to be the one to drive as you head to your doctor's appointment!.

Most importantly, don't be embarrassed!. You're not the first, you're the last and no one is judging!. It doesn't say anything about who you are or your ability to do things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why would you be embarrassed!? It's not like it's a rare thing to happen!. You need to ask your doctor for some help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
