Answers:

Well I wouldn't call this clinical depression, seeing as there was a traumatic event that brought about your feelings of depression. But I think it is situational depression. Here ya go: http://www.everydayhealth.com/depression…

^ tis a link for coping with situational depression

Situational depression is depression brought about by a stressful or traumatic event. Clinical depression is not caused by anything in particular and lasts longer.

I'm sorry about your kitty :(
I also think the best way to get over the loss of a pet is by getting a new pet, not to replace the old one but to have another one to love and cherish and have that special pet/owner bond with.

sufferer of clinical depression, recently lost my kitty and got two new kitties :D

Depression is a widespread condition, affecting millions of people, Christians and non-Christians alike. Those suffering from depression can experience intense feelings of sadness, anger, hopelessness, fatigue, and a variety of other symptoms. They may begin to feel useless and even suicidal, losing interest in things and people that they once enjoyed. Depression is often triggered by life circumstances, such as a loss of job, death of a loved one, divorce, or psychological problems such as abuse or low self-esteem.

The Bible tells us to be filled with joy and praise (Philippians 4:4; Romans 15:11), so God apparently intends for us all to live joyful lives. This is not easy for someone suffering from situational depression, but it can be remedied through God's gifts of prayer, Bible study and application, support groups, fellowship among believers, confession, forgiveness, and counseling. We must make the conscious effort to not be absorbed in ourselves, but to turn our efforts outward. Feelings of depression can often be solved when those suffering with depression move the focus from themselves to Christ and others.

I can totally sympathize, as my cat died recently also. You have to find other interests to keep you busy. Have any hobbies? Perhaps meet new friends or join a club. Get involved with an online forum. Go out and exercise. Volunteer at the animal shelter or humane society. It's normal to be depressed after the death of a pet, but as they say, time heals all wounds. Keep good thoughts of your cat. Perhaps get another? Good luck and blessings.

If you want to know for sure that you're depressed, you must get evaluated by a professional. If it turns out that you are, your doctor can give you options for healing.
