Say you wrote a collection of songs and then you ran them by another individual who is a lover of music. Although you wrote the songs, the person gave their two cents and helped the song-writer to "tweek" the songs. (helped to add and eliminate certain words)
Now the person (the non-writer) who helped tweek the songs said "If it wasn't for me, all your songs would have sucked" .....What would you think of the person who said that???

but anyway, i'd be offended. maybe calmly say to the person "what makes you say that?" or "that hurt my feelings, what do you mean by that?" give them a chance to explain what they meant before you scream at them :P x
Unless they were just kidding I would have thought they were an arrogant pr_ck, reverted my songs to the original versions and not asked for their opinion again.
The person who said that is an idiot and a plagiarist. You shoul end any relationship with him
