Relax, nothing is wrong we you. Self harm is a natural reaction for some people.
Ive been burning myself for half a year now because that pain releases all these built up emotions. I dont think ill ever be ready to my mum but oh well.
However I am getting help, from my schools counselor. I know you dont trust your school but a counselor or therapist is bound by the law to keep confidentiality. However some counsellors will have to break this law if they believe you are a serious threat to yourself others, some counselors do put self harming under this but some dont so if you do go ask for a clear explanation of their rules.
Hope you do get some help before it gets any worse.

You cut to turn the mental pain into a physical one because that type of pain is much more easily handled. Mental pain is the worst because there's little to nothing you can do about it but mull it over and over, and over in your head which is exhausting.
A physical pain is much easier to deal with because you know eventually it will stop hurting.
I think you should tell your mom what you just told us. That you cut to feel something. That it's the only way you can actually feel. I believe you suffer from sever depression which can explain the numbness. But whatever the case, talk to your mom okay?

First thing you have to know is: YOU'RE NOT ALONE. Many people suffer from depression, and there are non-profit agencies that can help you with that. My favorite one is To Write Love on Her Arms. It has a list of people you can call if you feel bad. Take Action! is also a good option, especially if you're into music. I attended a tour once where Take Action! partnered with DoSomething.org to promote awareness. DoSomething.org is a website where you can find volunteering opportunities in your community to occupy your mind and time on something more productive.
