Ok, well first of all, do you have any idea where you fear of fainting in itself comes from?
Anyway, it sounds like you have anxiety triggered by over-illumination (which basically means bright lights/brightly lit places) which comes from your nervous system being over stimulated, triggering your anxiety. Normally I'd recommend you take something like Xanax or Ativan but unfortunately, you said you don't want to take drugs (which I'm assuming mean prescription drugs) so my recommendation would be null. So instead I suggest you take herbs or supplements. Some great herbs that are used for anxiety are:
-St. Johns Wort (my personal favorite)
-Chamomile (tea is good as well).
-Kava Kava
-Ginseng (close second favorite)
-Lemon balm
*Catnip (the herb) is said to have a sedative effect and to be a great help for anxiety sufferers everywhere, however this is one I have never tried it).
Having been a sufferer of panic disorder for over 25 years it is a proven medical fact that bright lights DO trigger panic just due to the fact that bright lights cause the vision and thus the mind to get on a higher alert level. what I did for this was I wore sunglasses in the stores I went into. This Drastically cut the panic feeling/reaction down. Of course I made sure I only went into these stores during the day. At night>? Movies theatres ect posed no problems. I wish you the best.
