20mg citalopram still wake up tense?!
Question: 20mg citalopram still wake up tense?
Answers:
Celexa (citalopram) is an antidepressant of the "SSRI" kind--meaning it works to increase the amount of serotonin in your system.
Since it is not for anxiety, you may need something additional for anxiety (stress).
I would ask the psychiatrist and see if there is a low dose of an anti-anxiety medicine you could take--maybe before bed.

Psychiatry and medication in particular is not an exact science and you will need to tweak it or get onto something else if Citalopram does not work for you. It does not work for everyone. I know how frustrating that can be.
I'm guessing you take them at night then? How about taking them in the morning? Ask your doctor first, but you could try it. Or if you're taking them in the morning, take them at night.
Good luck :)
