Terrible Anxiety! What Can I Do to fix it ?!
Question: Terrible Anxiety! What Can I Do to fix it ?
Answers:
There is a series called Attacking Anxiety, that in all honesty, changed my life. The main points in it has to do with changing your way of thinking. She goes through the main types of misguided thinking that most of us think. For example, "I'm struggling here, so YOU SHOULD BE ...." basically treating me good, doing good for me, etc. Even if we aren't aware we're thinking this way, we do. So then when everyone else acts like THEMSELVES <grin>, it just adds to our anxiety. Another example is trying to re-define a situation. She gave an example of going to Florida for a summer vacation, only to have it RAIN the whole time! Two choices: 1) be miserable, b/c there's nothing to do, can't go swimming, can't go to the beach, etc. 2) realize this IS vacation and you're going to treat yourself good, take good care of yourself, eat right, etc. The more you can do for yourself, the better. Another major point was FOOD. GUESS how important it is that you eat right now, hon! Do you realize by not eating, you are feeding your anxiety? And I don't mean bad food; I mean GOOD food.
By the way. Are you aware that you might be lactose intollerant, and that lactose is in more than just milk and eggs? Do a research on what all has lactose. Growing up, I never knew I was lactose intollerant. It wasn't even a doctor who told me! I met a guy in my late 20s who suggested it could be that. I thought he was crazy, til I noticed it came right back after eating quiche. Try looking into that.

In hypochondriasis, people are preoccupied with the fear of having a serious disease or are preoccupied with the belief that they actually have a disease. These feelings are usually based on a misinterpretation of normal bodily sensations or minor physical symptoms.
