I'd like to find a therapist but I'm only 15 and my family can't afford it.?!
Question:
I'd like to find a therapist but I'm only 15 and my family can't afford it.?
I really think I need a therapist because I've gone to them in the past and stuff has been happening to make me think I need one again. But my parents would never agree with me because I can't talk to them about it at all and besides we can't afford it and we don't have health insurance. I'm only fifteen and can't drive myself anywhere and I couldn't get away with having someone else take me because my parents would get suspicious. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can work around these obstacles and still get the help I need?
Answers:
HI - I agree with talking with your school counselor to try to find a therapist.
Another idea is to see if 211 (like 911 but with a 2) is in your area.. try calling it.. tell them you are 15 and need a therapist, and they'll try to help you.
You might also try calling a local church for help?
