I'm trying to get off Venfalaxine tablets. Has anyone else been through this?!

I'm trying to get off Venfalaxine tablets. Has anyone else been through this?

I voluntarily managed to get down from two 37.5mgs tablets a day down to one 37.5mg tablet a day and I coped relatively well. I then went to my GP and she told me to just stop them completely! I tried this for one day, and have never felt so awful in my life!!

I went back to my GP and on her advice, I took half a 37.5mg tablet for five days, and yesterday and today are my first days without any tablets at all, but I feel absolutely awful. I'm getting really really bad headaches and dizziness.

Does anyone know how long I will feel like this for?

Bless you, you poor thing (and me too). I also took 2 x 37.5gm /day. Desperately wanted to come off them entirely, so like you got down to 1/2 tablet(19mg)/day. Like you have tried stopping altogether but I feel DREADFUL. I get like zingy electric shocks running straight thru me and a total fuzzy head..Apparently, some people can just stop and not experience any symptoms atall but if you do---- and you do then you have to pick a day/week where you don't have much on when you can stay at home. You will have to focus just on you, possibly staying in bed. Unfortunately for us it has to be cold turkey. Apparently the symptoms do diminish as the days go by but it is damn hard. I have decided to stay on the minimum dosage I can get away with, that is 19mg/day. Haven't summonsed up the courage to stop entirely.I used to worry about being on 19mg as I know it is going to mean a whole week wasted, but isn't it scary though to think that 1/2 a little pink pill has such an effect.
