What is the hardest part of having OCD?!
Question:
What is the hardest part of having OCD?
I'm wondering if people can cope with the disorder without meds.
Answers:
I think that the hardest part (and I know this first hand as my child and sister have it REALLY bad) is that other people do not understand it. As a result, they are not as sensitive or compassionate about why the person with OCD does what they do. Just because your own mind can't wrap around it, doesn't mean that the issue is any less real for them. I have found that having patience, and being supportive is really important. Many times they are embarrassed by what they are doing, but still feel compelled to do it! (And meds help too).
