How fast does any medication work in when i've got GAD?!

How fast does any medication work in when i've got GAD?

i'm 15 and dont really understand this, i've figured all this out yesterday and i was wondering how fast does medication work for you to get better???

no offense to the second person who posted. but trust me i dont feel the need to be "cool" or anything like that. i just cant take it anymore. i need serious help and i think i need to take some medication but also feel scared and embarassed just to go see a doctor so i dont know what i can do.... =|


Answers:

If you were perscribed a benzoadipine (like Xanax or Ativan) then it should start working right away, as they are immidiate release and work on the anxiety receptors of the brain.

If you were given an anti-depressant then it will start to work in 2-4 weeks. Your doc should have given you something for short-term as well as long term
