Is it possible to be suicidal, but not depressed?!

Question:

Is it possible to be suicidal, but not depressed?

don't worry. I'm fine now. But I didn't used to be. I'm happy now but a few years ago I attempted suicide, I would never think of doing it again though. But I was never diagnosed with depression. I never really told anyone how I felt. I acted happy. So if I was depressed back then, it went away on it's own, but is it possible to be suicidal, and not depressed?

Answers:

Yes. It's a myth that everyone who attempts or commits suicide is mentally ill or depressed. Sometimes people who attempt suicide do it because they see no other way out, not of the pain and torment of depression/life, but because of certain situations, perhaps financial or shameful.
