How do you get someone to a psychiatrist?!

How do you get someone to a psychiatrist?
If they clearly need help but don't realize it. How do you begin to help them? (someone who is possible schizo and bi polar)

SEriously though....... start off by just making an appointment for them at their general practitioner. Let him be the one to refer him/her. It would be easier coming form the doctor. Sometimes our loved ones don't want to hear that from us. But coming from a professiona? They seem to sit up and listen.
