Semen?? Serious answers only please!?!
Question: Ok......is it just me or does semen really stink! LOL. Seriously though, my husband and I are trying to concieve & his sperm smell so strong it grosses me out! I lay there for 30 minutes (with hips propped up on a pillow) and I don't dare lift the sheet up while I wait because of how his semen smells. I shower after intercourse always because his semen is so stinky. Is this normal????? I have been with 1 other guy before my hubby, but we always used a condom, so I guess I never really noticed semen odor before. Sorry it's a gross question, but thanks for any info!

Just as all women smell differently, so do men. I have been told by my GYNO that the "fishy" smell that men complain that us women have is actually the smell of their semen reacting with our normal juices. If your husband likes strong foods -garlic, onions, etc., or drinks a lot of beer, you will notice a stronger smelling semen. There has never been any scientific proof that the stronger the smell, the more fertile he is. You may want to have him checked out by the Dr too to be sure he is not carrying some type of infection anywhere in his body. This could also cause a stronger scent. All men have a fishy smelling semen though, some stronger, some not so strong. Congratulations on your concieving, no matter what the odor, I hope you get your Christmas blessing!

Well the only semen I've ever come in contact with is my own and it has never given off odor. So this is new to me.
It smells like sex. I like the smell of sex. Far from the smell of sex being "gross"... however, seminal fluid can vary in taste and smell depending on diet. I've heard that pineapple juice sweetens the taste (and smell) of seminal fluid. Toss out the orange juice.. and buy pinneapple juice.. feed him up on it every day for a week and then give it a chug!
The smell has nothing whatever to do with fertility.
It really depends I havent noticed mine befor but maybe it's like cigarette smoke, when you smoke you cant smell it but everyone else can.
sad to say, yes sometimes it does stink. I always could tell when my son jerked in the shower; there was always that distinct odor. When I was in college, I always could tell when my roommate got off. And it was worse when he'd have his girlfriend over; I really could tell they had done the nasty. Don't think the odor has anything to do with fertility, although I did notice that after my vasectomy, my semen didn't seem to stink like it did.

I have observed that often it is the combination of male and female fluids that makes a strong perhaps unpleasant smell which neither alone and unmixed has. Perhaps this is what is occurring here?
Have your lover drink pineapple juice and eat celery and the taste will be significantly improved.....
