If you want to see results you're gonna have to do more than 50 pushups a day. Try to do them in sets and build up to the point where you can knock out sets of 20, 25, 30 reps up to a total of 200-300 pushups. You'll see results in about 2-3 weeks. You will see even more results if you eat right during that time.
Doing dips on a bed, chair, or table is a good way to work your triceps and lower chest.
