sound like a problem, you should get it checked out, some diseases and such can cause this to happen, and may be reversable if caught on time.
As far as evolution, it's bent to increase the amount of friction during intercourse. They can't be straightened without some kind of reconstructive surgery.

I'm not sure but it's because on the top of the penis there is a muscle or string like tendon is getting tight, There are doctors out there who can cut this to make longer and straighter genitalia. I read an article on this about 10 yrs ago but can't remember the correct terminology.

slight bend is compeletely normal and it isnt a disease .a very sharp bend that hampers peeing requires surgery
