Weight problem: why its easier to gain weight that it it to lose it ??!


Question: im a 16 year old guy 5'7 and about 200 pounds i was 230 pounds but no more :)
i try eating healthy exercising ( noy much of that i have to admit)
but for me its easier to gain than it is to lose weight
i try not eating bread,pasta,potatos ,and all those fast food
i eat only white meat( chicken,turkey,duck) and i usually eat it eighter with rice or with broccoli
i havent been eating potato chips in about a month the same goes to chocolate bars and other candy ( i only eat mints and thats not very often)

i want to lose another 10-15 pounds
ive tried diet pills but they dont work for me

You have to use more energy than what you consume in food. In other words, if you burn up more calories than you eat, you lose weight, if you eat more calories then you use then you gain weight. Carbohydrates like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, any sweets or fast foods are loaded with calories. Look at the food labels, for instance when buying bread for making sandwiches at home, buy the 100 whole grain or whole wheat, you can see if you are really getting the right stuff right on the label, if it has as the number one ingredient "enriched wheat flour" then leave it on the shelf, you want to avoid the word "enriched", look for whole grain or whole wheat as the number one ingredient instead. If you have to go for fast food, choose the grilled option instead of the fried, skip the fries or get the small, and drink water or unsweetened tea and use the artificial stuff to sweeten instead of the soda unless you like diet soda, but still, water is the best choice. If you drink 4 sodas a day, try replacing at least 2 of them with water instead, your body needs the water not all the sugar packed into a serving of soda full of calories. I like to keep a few lemons in the house so when I drink water at home i just squeeze a slice or two into it, you can even add some equal or sweet and low and have your own lemonade. Mmmm Tasty!

no its the opposite

just try working out more and force urself not to eat in between meals. one day, my parents werent home and there wasnt anything to really "good" to eat in the house. so i waited and i lost like 3lbs. but then again i m a 13 yr old girl so maybe it is different for guys.

You have to run, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT.

Start walking, try to walk in the Heart Rate Zone for 20 min.
After you are comfortable with walking you have to start running. Thats the only way. I have the same problem i am realy over weight. And So for me to lose weight i have to eat right. Which you are doing. Then i have to walk to burn the extra calories and fat that i have in my body. Then i go and lift weights to increase in my strength.

If you don't like to lift, you could eat 250 calories less. And just walk.

My friend is extremely skinny and shes lucky to gain a pound once a month. Its hard depending on your metabolism. She plays lacrosse and eats pretty normal-she goes extra on somethings because of her weight. I suggest exercising as much as you can- a few hours a day! Find a sport you really like and practice at it. Find some friends that want to play with ya. Im lucky because I have a fast metabolism and Im a vegeterian. Im good for my age and height.
