Guys what does it feel like when u have a catheter inserted?!

Question: Describe this as best as u can.

Answers: Describe this as best as u can.

Insertion didn't bother me at all. It felt a little weird, but didn't hurt at all. The person that put a catheter in me put some sort of gel around tip the penis, and some on the tip of the catheter then inserted it. It felt strange to feel something traveling UP the urethra instead of down. Then when the tip got to the actual bladder I felt a sensation of needing to go pee. This was because the tip of the catheter was touching the bladder sphincter muscle and pushing on it. I was told to relax and not tighten up (like you would do to keep peeing). Once the catheter went into the bladder, the sensation of needing to pee was gone. The next part was a lil embarrassing,,, evidently your bladder always contains urine to some extent,, only we don't notice it till there is enough of it to put pressure on the bladder muscles. So of course the little bit of urine that is in the bladder goes into the hollow tube of the catheter and out the other end. Once the catheter was fully inserted the sterile water balloon at the tip was inflated. The person then pulled slightly on the catheter slightly to make sure it was in place and that it would not come out. When they did that, it felt like I had a sudden urge to pee, but once they stopped it went away.

While it was in, I was in no discomfort at all. I didn't even notice it either.

But once it came time to remove it, I did encounter some discomfort. The best way I could describe it, was like, the tube going up the urethra had somewhat stuck to the bladder much like the way a piece of paper will stick you your lip and then you pull it away.

Like a backwards kidney stone. It's only TRULY painful if you don't sit still, or if you have a bad doctor.

itchy

why do u want to know?

I really strange feeling, I would not say its very pain-full, just very very uncomfortable. If you have ever swallowed air and got like a bubble in the middle of your chest, well its kind of like that only going up your penis, and believe me you don't want a erection before during or after its being done.

Well going in you dont feel it cause i was out when it was inserted i woke up it was there but comming out was no picknic then taking a wiz after was like fire for a few days

curtdude

by the looks of the many I have inserted, not fun. Sometimes it's worse coming out due to strictures and drying of discharge at the tip of the penis.
2 things that may help you out. 1. Ask for lidocaine gel prior to insertion. Helps a bit. 2. Make sure they deflate the balloon all the way (sound elementary but I 've seen a few non-fully evacuated balloons)... Not pretty. AND makes sure the tip of your penis is cleaned off prior to removal or ouch!

umm I'm not a guy, but I do read a lot of medical text books....generally, if you're given a local anesthetic, it won't be too uncomfortable, but you will feel some pressure. basically, in lamence terms, it would prob feel like something that is inserted that isn't made for that. the male penile organ is made for things to EXIT not enter. ask for a local.
