Family Life Book?!

Question: My family life book(8thgrade) in school only talks about masturbation. This book is only the beginning. I seriously can wait till highschool. ANYWAY, It talks about Masturbation. I dont have the book in front of me but Im trying to remember what it said. Oh, it says: Try to talk to your kids that masturbation is not ok. The Genitals is only for cleaning in the bath or going to the bathroom. If you masturbate your wasting gods gift to you.

Ok, now Im effing confused. Why are people saying that: "its in the bible, your allowed to do it" Now, this book is part of religion and Im so confused that: Is it ok to masturbate or is it not? I have been masturbating but Im trying to stop for awhile.
Can anyone have a effing explanation?

It depends on your moral or religious perspective. From a Catholic or even strong Christian standpoint, masturbation could be viewed as sinful because it is wasting what could have been a potential life. Religious or moral views that strongly emphasize the sacredness of life view masturbation to be wrong because the sperm that is ejaculated potentially could have been used to fertilize an egg and create a life.

I'm not telling you that this is the only viewpoint on masturbation there is, I'm just telling you that this is the angle your book is probably teaching from.

Throw that book out, it's old school.

Masturbation is not sinful and it's not unhealthy. It is perfectly normal for people to masturbate.

It's the best way for you to understand your body's sexual responses. There are so many myths out there it's laughable.
