Supposively UTI ( urinary tract infection ) is gone?! i have same symptoms thoug!

Question: Supposively UTI ( urinary tract infection ) is gone!?! i have same symptoms though"!?
i hear that antibiotics don't clear up the infection all the way" i have had two UTI's and each time i do a follow up the doctor says im clear of infection but my symptoms same and or worse daily i have urgency that won't go away no pain ever!. Is it possible that a urine culture and or dipstick test won't show infection when there really is still infection left in the bladder or urethra i have irritation and urgency feeling all day all night and im very concerned because doctor says im clear of infection!?! Would a urologist be able to help me further than a doctor, what should i do!? thanks soo much, Brian Taylor!. im Male 22Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Brian

You can ask for a referral to a urologist!.
They would do a bladder scan with ultrasound and this could check that you don't have bladder stones which gives the same feeling as a urinary tract infection!.
You should also have your blood sugar level checked as a constant need to urinate could be the start of diabetes!.
Urgency could be linked to prostatitis, an inflammation of your prostate which usually gives flu like symptoms as well!.
Finally you could have an irritable bladder which may have been left by the urinary tract infection, so this can be treated with medication!. It is usually a feeling that you want to go to the toilet but then don't pass much when you go!.
See what your doctor says and if are getting no where ask to see a urologist!.
Let me know how you get on
Good luck, Brian!.

make sure they send a back up!. This will let it grow for a little while and show up more than a quick dip stick If you're concerned then mention it to your doctor that you're really concerned!. If this doesnt work, then try switching doctors or going to a specialistWww@Answer-Health@Com
