Do both cardio and resistance training. More muscle will help you burn calories after and cardio will help with everything from your vascular system to your digestive system. Remember, take it slow and work your way up. DIET!!!! DIET!!!! DIET!!!!! (HEALTHY FOODS, NOT fad diets like atkins and other bs celebrity diets).
before answering: i ma my self 40LB over weight
loosing weight is tricky and directly proportional to your DIET and METABOLISM system.
if your digestion and metabolism system is slow then you have to concentrate first on your eating habits. eat small, in proportions, and eight right. no drinking any water/bev before and after 20min of meal. no meal after 7pm.
secondly; Cardio excersizes won't directly help in loosing weight. see there is a formula to keep your heart rate between 125-134 pulse / min to loose weight. any thing above that is cardio and you won't loose weight and your heart will build muscles to become stronger; which is ofcourse good but doing just cardio will make you macho man :)
Green Tea with Lemon helps in reducing weight (personally tried)
if you're trying to just lose weight, cardio. if you're trying to lose body fat, both, so you'll gain some muscle at the same time. you'll also have to get into the habit of eating healthier, or you're just gonna put the pounds right back on.

The more the better, everyone says losing the fat and building muscle at the same time is great. I'll assume there word as true.
Cardio will make you lose the fat, while weight-lifting will make you gain muscle.
Lose the weight then lift.
