Question: well i think i may have diabetic ketoacidosis ive had iabetes for half a year now and now i am sick with a cold i vomited once (i think it was from an allergic reaction) abdominal pain but that was from the allergic reaction i am really not hungry at all my blood sugars are all over the map right now im 19.7 thats probably becuase i just ate a while ago and im feeling a bit confused and tired my mom says its just cause i have a cold but i dont think so

I am sorry you are so sick right now.You may need a bit more insulin- if you take insulin.
If no ketones, you do not have DKA.
Keep checking and drink lots of clear non carb beverages.

Smell your breath. If it's fruity, have someone drive you to the ER. Pop a glucose tab.
If you have diabetes, I am surprised you do not have ketone test strips. They are little strips that you test your in your urine stream that show if your ketone levels are high.
It is a SERIOUS condition if you have ketoacidosis. So, if you are suspicious that this may be the case, call your doctor asap, and get some of those test strips to test on a daily basis.
No, usually when I get sick, my blood sugar goes really crazy too. Just get some rest, and drink a lot of water.
I'm a diabetic and can tell you that being sick causes your numbers to be everywhere. I broke my wrist twice last summer and got no ketones. P.S. Being sick maybe is why you don't feel good! Merry Christmas! :D
