Clahmydia Question??!
Question: Recently after going to the gyno for regular paps I was told I had Clahmydia.. I have had NO symptoms of it what so ever before this. So she gave me some meds. for it and said it would be gone in 7 days. Well its been 12 days and my boyfriend and I have not had sex after we took the meds yet but now I am having weird discharge and itchyness down there. Is it possible that i didnt get it all out of my system with that one dose and need another ?? Not sure cause I didn't have these symptoms bofore this, could it be an after effect of the meds?? I will call my doc tomorrow, but am worried and need some info NOW... Thanks!

Your doctor gave you antibiotics, which killed the chlamydia. However, as is common, the antibiotics killed the friendly bacteria that live in your vagina, meaning that you got an overgrowth of yeast, and now have a yeast infection. This is totally standard as a reaction to antibiotics, and you can expect it when you take antibiotics in future. I suggest you call the doctor and tell her your symptoms, and she might want to see you or might just call in a prescription for an oral treatment--Diflucan. Also: your boyfriend was tested for chlamydia too, right? There are seldom any symptoms, especially in men, so he could be infected.

A lot of meds can give you a yeast infection. You may have gotten an infection because of the antibiotics.
It very possibly could be a yeast infection. You were on antibiotics and some antibiotics are known for causing a yeast infection unfortunatey. Get rid of one problem, get another. Go see your doctor tomorrow. You'll be fine.
Call your doc. It could be a side effect. Some antibiotics I've taken in the past have given me yeast infections. Good luck:)
it is a yeast infection. sometimes it happens with antibiotics too.
You need to ask your doctor,and you may need another round of the meds sometimes it takes more to clear it up.
You have been on strong antibiotics. It sounds like a yeast infection, which can occur anytime you take strong antibiotics. Do not have sex. You can give the yeast infection to your boyfriend also. See your doctor about getting diflucan in the morning. It is the one pill cure for yeast. When taking antibiotics you should always include yogurt with active cultures in your diet, like Yoplat yogurt to help prevent you from developing a yeast infection. Yeast is opportunistic and whenever you kill bad bacteria with antibiotics, ultimately you kill your good flora too, so yeast takes over. It is itchy. Try some Vagisil Cream to help with the itch tonight and a cool bath.
