Can you get emphysema from 2 years of smoking?!


Question: YES YES YES! my grandpa smoked for a year and got emphysema! emphysema is when little holes formin your lungs. air sacs rupture. this 1 chick smoked since 10 yrs old and is 20 and cant even cwalk a yard without having some kind of attack. every breath is like her last. she breathes with an inhaler. doesnt that suck? im 13 and know that most people that ask u 2 smoke dont even smoke themselves! if ou soked at least once a day u probbly can get it

It depends on the amount of smoking you are doing within that time.

Emphysema does not just "occur" because you start smoking. If smoking is kept to maybe 2 or 3 cigarettes a week, you are unlikely to face any problems.

Emphysema is a gradual damage to your internal and the more you smoke the worse it will get. If you smoke for 2 years and then quit, your lungs will probably repair themselves, or at least repair themselves enough that you will have a normal breathing.

It also depends on how strong your body is. If you are on the right side of the population curve you may not be as effected. If you are on the left side, yes you could get it.

The people on the left are weaker, the ones on the right are stronger. The majority of the population are in the middle.
