Panic attacks....?!

Question: II used to get quite depressed a few years back and have panic attacks where I felt like I couldn't breathe properly. I haven't had them for years, I thought I'd got it under control, but I'm starting to feel really edgy and awful like I used to. I can't stop thinking about worst case scenarios for everything and it's making me feel sick. What can I do to stop them?

you just have to learn to cope and realize it's just anxiety. anxiety and panic never killed anyone, so that's good. I suffer from them too and it's easier said than done to blow them off. but there is no real way of stopping them, just coping.

Exercise helps. Another option is non narcotic anxiety medication such as Buspar.

>See a doctor...there are plenty of medications that will help to take care of the problem...also, a little cognitive therapy helps some people a lot.<

talk to your doctor about this and see if he can give you some think for this.....................i know how you feel ive had Panic attacks from the age of 18 im now 24 and still get them

GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an amino acid that can be taken to calm the body. It prevents anxiety and stress-related messages from reaching the motor centers of the brain by filling its receptor site.

You can buy GABA at http://www.swansonvitamins.com for $2 or $3. 750 mg dose will have a tranquilizing effect, so if that's not what you need, take a lower dosage. It's non-addictive.

The only reason I recommend the above site is because they have 3 independent laboratories test products they sell under their (Swanson) label for content purity and dosage amount. That's important to me, because the nutritional supplement market is not regulated, and tests have proven that some brand names are not reliable as far as containing the contents described on the labels.
