Mole removal...will it hurt?!

Question: I'm getting a mole cut out in my Dr.'s office. Will this hurt a lot? Do they give me a shot of anesthetic?

They will give you some lidocaine (shot). That hurts a little, but the actual removal will not hurt. I have had several moles removed on several areas of my body. Don't be nerveous. You will look great!

No. It doesn't hurt. You're in, out, and done in less than ten minutes.

you could probably ask for one

Usually they freeze it to deaden it. Doesn't hurt.

YES

They will give you a small shot to dull the area. It doesn't hurt at all.

i think so people say when a mole comes off you don't stop bleeding

No according to my mon's story. Her Dermatologist burned them off with some medical tool. She sail it didn't hurt. Might also depend on if the mole hurts you now, If it does, it may hurt I'm not sure. i think they do give you a shot in some places.

had a bunch removed, mostly burnt off with liquid nitrogen, some cut. yes they use anesthetic. it was so painless didn't get any pain stuff, till i went home and then it started hurting. So called back and got some pain pills.

No it won't hurt they will numb it

hmm, u know what! Try to have pimple over ur mole and then when u squeeze it, ur mole pigment gonna gone with the puss

They will give you something to numb the area. I have had several removed and it is not a big deal. I didn't even realize they were through until they told me. It will be a little sore after the numbness wears off though. Just be sure and take care of the skin like they tell you to. You will be fine.

The doctor will put a topical number on your mole first. The needle to numb the area is barely felt. It feel more like being touched then a stick or pinch. You will feel nothing during the procedure. I had skin cancer and biopsies are done the same way moles are removed. I was so scared when I was about to have my first one removed. I seriously was surprised when she said she was all done. I didn't feel a thing. Good Luck! Relax. It really is painless.
