soak a cottonball in rubbing alcohol and apply to your cold sore for 30 seconds. after it dries apply a thick layer of carmex....do the alcohol 4 times a day and make sure the rest of the time a thick layer of carmex is on it. take 1,000mg of Lysine (found at drugstores) 3 times a day.
within a day it should be dried up and form a scab. after it forms a scab just keep carmex on it and dont pick. it should be completely cleared up within a couple of days.
Zovirax works because it is medicated unlike other creams which are not. You get it from the pharmacy.
go to your physician and get a script for valtrex
it may only be 4 tablets... they will heal it up asap
if you have these as a recurring problem , tell the doc you get them all the time and even ifyouonly fill a months worth(60 pill) you only need to take 2 when you feel it coming on and thats it no cold sore
also there is another otc drug called re-leev and it works very well.. no mess no sting and you can even gargle it
otherwise abreva, also otc, works alright
take daily lysine tablets-- an amino acid
many people who take this daily NEVER get another blister!
Apparently spraying perfume on it works.
My cousin told me this, not sure if it's true.
